Town hall facelift promised

PAKENHAM’S town hall will get a facelift if the Liberal Party wins the state election.
Bass MP Ken Smith said if the Liberals won the 25 November poll, $100,000 would be committed to upgrade the hall.
“The Pakenham Hall is badly in need of an update to bring it into line with the needs of the rapidly growing community,” he said.
“With around 21,000 people believed to be living in the township of Pakenham now and with an estimated increase of nearly 50 per cent to around 31,000 by 2011 there is a clear need for facilities, particularly in central Pakenham, to be kept up to date and provide the amenities needed by this dynamic community.”
