NYORA’S Bgrade team produced a strong bowling performance for a convincing win against Tooradin on Saturday.
After making 167 with the bat and having Tooradin 5/33 the previous week, the Maroons started well with Nick Fairbank taking a wicket with the second ball of the day.
Tooradin was 6/36, 7/39 and 8/48 due to some fine bowling with Fairbank 2/33 off 13 overs and Matt Hendry 3/32 off 15.
The tail waged until Andrew Collis took the final wicket, having Tooradin all out on 105.
Andrew Collis had the excellent figures of 4/4 off 4.4 overs.
Nyora then batted again with Andrew Cillis making a great 60, Mark Pearse 24 and Nick Fairbank 16. Nyora finishing the day on 6/125.

Merinda Park 8/206 defeated Nyora 46 and 3/107.
Nyora began in a tough position after being bundled out for 46 the previous week and Merinda Park being 6/152.
Dean Russel and Drew Breen got stuck into the batsmen claiming a wicket each.
Merinda Park declared on 8/206.
Breen, in his first game back, finished with 3/63 off 16 overs. Dean Russel had 3/51 off 12 and Andrew Cavigan 2/18 off six.
Brian Knight, Drew Breen, Dean Russel, Luke Tagliaferro and Daniel Morrison all took catches.
The match was stopped with Nyora making 3/107 off 52 overs.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:F GRADE

Gembrook batted first and started well with D. Hill making 52 and S. Ossewejer 38.
Gembrook was all out for 120. Ben White ripped through the lineup getting 5/13 off six overs and N. Carrell took 1/23 off four.
Nyora then took the crease and started poorly loosing a wicket in the second over, but picked up the tempo with Ben White making a quick 30.
Leigh Jose smashed 50 not out and Lee Cleary 18.
Nyora finished on 7/139 winning by 19 runs.

Tooradin 3/243 defeated Nyora 3/179
Defending 179 from the previous week, Nyora struggled in the field and was unable to get the Tooradin openers M. Ralph and S. Baker out, who both retired on 50.
Tooradin passed Nyora’s score without any loss and was 191 before the first wicket fell.
Once the game was lost, all the under 13s that filled in were given a bowl. Wicket takers were Jake Hackett (1/39 off four overs), (1/12 off two) and Trent Breen (1/14 off two).

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 13

KilcundaBass 106 defeated Nyora 105.
Nyora batted chasing KilcundaBass’ score of 106 from the previous week.
A good firstwicket partnership between Jack Strybosch and Gavin Hackett saw the first wicket fall in the 15th over with 52 runs made.
Some good bowling by KilcundaBass ripped through the middle order, leaving Nyora with one wicket.
Nyora ended up losing by one run with one ball to go.
Best were Jack Strybosch, (28), Gavin Hackett (16) and Jade Ellams (nine).
Jema Ellams and Madison Cavigan both made runs in their first games for Nyora.
