$100 note a fake

POLICE have been handed a counterfeit $100 bank note after it was passed over the counter at a Pakenham takeaway shop.
Detective Sergeant Phil Jury said the note was handed over at the shop on Princes Highway about 7pm on Monday, 8 January.
“The person who handed over the note made a only small purchase and left with a large amount of change,” he said.
Det Sgt Jury said the person, identified as a male of Pacific islander appearance, left in a Ford utility.
He said it was important people checked the feel of the paper of large notes and the window on the note.
