Bomber bowlers on target

GOOD bowling spells from Emerald Agrade’s Rod Smith and Quenten Lucas on Saturday helped to dismiss Pakenham UpperToomuc (PUT) for 228 and put the Bombers in a good position this week.
The Bombers won the toss and chose to bowl, getting off to a good start with Lucas and Marsh restricting PUT to 3/34 after 14 overs.
A good partnership then took the score to 3/126 before Cam Williams took 1/25 off his 11 overs.
From then on Emerald bowled well and got steady wickets.
Smith bowled 10 overs for 3/29, while Lucas took 3/50.
Donald Alenson came back well in his second spell to finish with 259.
The Bombers batted for six overs for 1/43 with Clinton Marsh 23 and Mark Alenson not out 20.

B GRADE

Emerald played at home against PUT and batted first.
After losing two early wickets Mick Borkowski and Dan Leversha saw the score to 40 before the former was out for 17.
James Litterbach joined Leversha and brought the score to 71 before both were out in quick succession, each making 22, before the Bombers were bowled out for 89 off just 43 overs.
PUT was 4/74 at stumps.

D GRADE

The Bombers batted first at Tooradin and Jarred Gillespie and Mark Hamilton had a 33run stand.
When Gillespie went out, Corey Sweeney joined Hamilton and in the 23rd over the latter was out for 27.
With the score on 3/84 Emerald was looking good, but after Sweeney went for 30 the Bombers collapsed to be all out for 105 off only 38 overs.
In the field Emerald had to wait until the score was on 25 for the first wicket, but then Andrew Rolfs took 4/14 and Adam Failla 2/8 to put the Bombers back into the game with score on 6/54.

E GRADE

The Bombers played Merinda Park at home and batted first.
Chris Alenson and Mick VanLeewen took the score to 33, then Matt Livermore joined Alenson and batted well for 15.
Andy Alenson, 17, joined his father for a 42run partnership.
Paul Baldock and Chris Alenson then batted well with the former making 40 and just after he was out Alenson brought up an excellent 100 before going out for 106.
Emerald ended the day on 8/230.

F GRADE

The oneday team played Pakenham and batted first making 289 off its 35 overs.
Gary Santini and Daniel Mazlo opened and both retired on 50.
Darren Fellows and Nick Jansen batted well for 35 and 38.
In the field Emerald did well to dismiss Pakenham for 96.
Tim Robinson took 3/15 while Gary Santini 3/11.

UNDER 17 BLACK

The Black’s played Beacy Tigers and batted first and although struggling throughout the innings made 122.
Euan Thoms top scored with 20 and was well supported by Brent Hartnell’s 17 and 13s from Byron Sidwell and Ash Lucas.

UNDER 15 BLACK

Playing Pakenham away Emerald batted and did well to make 175 off its 40 overs.
Tyler Sidwell (24), Andy Alenson (32 not out) and Tom Baldock (26) played well at the top of the order, while Darcy Hellriegel and Tom Murphy batted well at the end to help get the score to 175.

UNDER 15 RED

Emerald played PUT Gold and bowled first.
The bowlers did well to restrict PUT to 7/138 off 40 overs.
Paul White, Mick Dompietro, Jake Rosen, Cam Williams, Jarryd Donders and Fraser Burns each took a wicket.
