Maroons bowlers maul Nyora

UPPER Beaconsfield’s Bgrade bowlers demolished Nyora’s batting lineup for a good win on Saturday
Chasing 226, Nyora was no match. Marcus Gehling took 2/40 from a lengthy spell.
Dan Brennan with his leftarm mediums took 2/9 and Glen Kilburn 1/8.
However it was Scott Pitcher’s leggies that badly wounded Nyora. The WGCA spinner returned 4/31 his most skilful craftwork for the season.
However after dismissing their opponents for 98, Upper Beaconsfield did not enforce the followon.
The Maroons were 8/122 in a second dig with Scott Pitcher 48 notout and enjoying possibly his best season with the bat.
Upper Beaconsfield will play KilcundaBass this week.

Chasing Catani’s 278, Upper Beaconsfield started the day at 1/13 and Rob Hansen and Paul Holland built a partnership of 40 before Holland departed.
As night watchman, Hansen in his 200th match for the club, scored 16 before succumbing to a crafty Ross Kortholt leg cutter.
Danny Williams reached 17 and Chris Read 40 and skipper Shawn Hassall 30 and Upper Beaconsfield was dismissed for 170.

The Maroons visited KilcundaBass that batted first and scored 170.
Taylor Joyce, who is still in the under13s, impressed taking a wicket. Upper Beaconsfield made 34 runs.

Playing the Officer combine Upper Beaconsfield eventually dismissed the opposition for 102 having scored just 58.
However Lochie Groh picked up 4/24 from his bowling stint, while Jack Sheppard also chipped in with 2/19.

Playing Upper Pakenham Gold, Upper Beaconsfield won the toss and electing to bat and opened with Luke Duffy and Jackson Hogan.
While Duffy was out early, Hogan batted for some 30 odd overs, eventually going out for 23.
He was supported early by Jake Cameron who struck the ball well and lifted the run rate.
Taylor Joyce was 26 not out. Jackson was then joined by Jayden Joyce who took up where his younger brother had left off to be not 26.
Andy Kay batted solidly for six, Lachie Walker and Matt Buntine combined well at the end of the innings making seven notout and five notout.
In reply the Maroons bowled and fielded well.
Luke Duffy, Scott McQuilton and Jake Cameron were excellent running out key opposition players for little or no score.
Jackson Hogan was again in the action with the ball taking 1/2 off three overs. Matt Buntine opened the bowling and took 2/3 off four overs and also a brilliant catch at first slip off the bowling off Luke Duffy.
Jayden also bowled well, taking 1/5 off three overs. Others top do well with the ball were McQuilton 1/11, Brown 1/12, Luke Duffy 1/14.

The Maroons defeated Pakenham Upper Gold by 131 runs at Upper Beaconsfield.
The Upper Beaconsfield batting stars were Lochie Harrison (24), Andrew Zerbst (29), Mitch Wills (25), Daniel Grey (18), Patrick Deady (19), Peter Hannon (20) and Renton Lewis (22), while the best bowlers included Bryce Beeton (4/3), Renton Lewis (4/1), Lochie Harrison (2/4) and Mitch Wills (2/0).
