No butts! Bulls are best

A SUPERB 6/39 from Dwayne Doig ensured that Cardinia Agrade regained possession of the Brian Vandenberghe Memorial Shield on Sunday.
The annual trophy game is played in honour of Brian Vanderberghe who played for both clubs.
Beaconsfield was off to a shaky start as Chris Remy (1/51) and Adam Hobson (1/10) both snared early wickets to have the Tigers reeling at 2/16.
Hobson bowled with plenty of pace and was unlucky not to have more than just the one wicket.
Doig was introduced early in the innings and bowled a tight and probing line and length and after eight overs had been hit for only two runs.
His 24over spell returned the exceptional figures of 6/39 including the key wickets of Brad Miles and Luke Sibley. Mark Cooper also bowled well to take 1/32.
The Tigers were all out for 145 and play was abandoned. The Bulls have now secured top spot and are eying off their second Agrade premiership.

Ryan Kitchin (3/41) and Matt Adlam (3/53) bowled superbly to take three wickets each and restrict Tooradin to 231 on Saturday.
After looking like a comfortable win was on the cards, a late comeback from Tooradin saw it edge close to the Bulls’ target.
Cardinia’s experience shone through however, with Justin Vanderzalm capturing two wickets, and 1/32 from Brodie Glen .

Cardinia had a comfortable outright victory against an undermanned Clyde.
Only seven wickets were required for maximum points and the wickets were shared amongst Ricky Campbell, Darren Aurisch, Travis Welsh and Matthew Argoon.

The Bulls came close to another outright victory on the weekend, missing out by only one wicket.
Cardinia declared its innings at 9/234, leaving Officer needing 128 to make the Bulls bat again.
Cardinia managed to get the Bullants into a vulnerable position at 8/104, however there wasn’t enough time for the Bulls to finish the job.
Chris Lemmon bowled superbly to take 3/14 and be the best of the bowlers. Brad Snooks took 3/27, father Wayne nabbed 1/22 and Bobby Baumgartner took 1/2.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 17

With a defendable total on the board, Cardinia couldn’t restrict Merinda Park as it powered on to 7/211 in pursuit of the Bulls’ 169.
Sam Vanderzalm was the best of the bowlers, taking 2/3. Fellow under13 player Alex Nooy also bowled well to take 2/10.
Ricky Campbell, Dylan Mitchell and Phil Strahan took a wicket each.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 15

A firstinnings 153 was too much for the Bulls to chase at Rythdale against Devon Meadows.
The Bulls fell for 129 with Devlin TraceyShaw being the top scorer on 35 before he was run out. Aiden Nooy got 19 and skipper Bradey Welsh made a solid 18.
