Tyler, Lee welcome review

CASEY chief executive Mike Tyler and his director of community services Jennie Lee have welcomed a council decision to hold an external review of the council’s maternal and child health (MCH) service.
This followed a sustained attack on the council administration by Casey deputy mayor Kevin Bradford and Narre Warren North MP Luke Donnellan over the service delivery.
Cr Bradford continued his attack during the Tuesday 6 February council meeting with a series of questions about changes to the service and times available to cater for family needs.
He said concerns existed in the community and that 91 mothers had complained to him about a lack of service.
Ms Lee said the council would be in a position to deliver all aspects of the service once three new nurses came on line.
Springfield Ward councillor Lorraine Wreford said she had no problem with a review of the service because it should get things in perspective. “I have been a member of the council for four years and only received one complaint about the MCH service, which was sorted. I would have expected that mothers with complaints would have called a female councillor,” she said.
