A 15YEAROLD Berwick boy who was rescued from Lysterfield Lake Park on Saturday, 17 February has died in hospital.
Kambrya College student Simon Trenberth passed way at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne on Friday.
He was swimming with a mate, also aged 15, about 6.45pm when he became distressed and went underwater.
Simon was pulled from the lake 10 minutes after he disappeared, according to police.
A group of passersby spent 20 minutes performing CPR on the teenager to revive him before he was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital by ambulance in a critical condition.
Family friends said it was a tragic and unexpected event.
A service celebrating Simon’s life will be held this Friday at 1.30pm in Pakenham.
