Mixed results for ROC

ROC Netball Club had a mixed day against Pakenham in round 14 on Saturday with only the A and Bgrade sides winning.
However team efforts were outstanding in all grades.

A GRADE

In a great team effort, ROC came out hard and gained an early lead, which it increased at each break.
ROC displayed great teamwork, communication and showed just what it is capable of.
Bestoncourt award went to Nic Robbins for her outstanding work in the goals.
Scores: ROC 54 d Pakenham 30.

B GRADE

In an excellent team game, positive talking and encouragement from everyone made a difference.
Defence from all positions put pressure on the opposition and gave the team many opportunities to goal.
Croftminster award went to Lisa Stephens for four great quarters.
Scores: ROC 29 d Pakenham 20.

C GRADE

Again ROC had a different lineup on court. Erin Nelson and Chantelle Franken combined well together in defence with good support from Lauren Macreadie on the wing.
The attack end worked hard all game, with the centre court feeding them well.
Erin Nelson received the Boons rosegrower’s award and Lauren Macreadie received the Croftminster award for their great games.
Scores: Pakenham 31 d ROC 14.

17 AND UNDER

A great team performance with all the players putting in 100 per cent for the whole game and worked hard to overcome Pakenham’s tight pressure.
ROC showed it was true finals contenders by winning the last quarter 53.
Megan Barling was best on court for her desperate game through centre, showing will and determination. Dale Corrigan also received an award for her brilliant game in WA, driving and feeding perfectly.
Scores: Pakenham 23 d ROC 13.

15 AND UNDER

An excellent game from the girls despite the loss, their hard work throughout the game was commendable with each player putting in their best.
Scores: Pakenham 30 d ROC 9.

13 AND UNDER

The windy conditions made the game tough for the team, but they still started well before dropping off as confidence levels decreased.
Good defence from Niccole Smith and Tylah Ingram kept the Pakenham goalers under pressure.
The midcourt worked well with good passages of play by Amy Hill who received the RPS Packaging award for her game.
Scores: Pakenham 16 d ROC 5.
