Slower demand at Baw Baw

THIS week at Baw Baw Livestock Exchange, Warragul saw vealers most affected by the slower demand with agents quoting the better veal six to eight cents easier, while secondary veal were quoted eight to 10 cents easier.
Some restockers managed to obtain a few pen lots of good quality head and this managed to keep the average price close to last week at 156.7. The top for vealers was 199.2, steers and bullocks returned a slight easement on average with bullocks averaging 154.5 to top at 165 and steers averaged 151 and made to 167.2.
Heifers stopped the slide in their price and held firm at 139.1, while making to a top of 155.2.
A lighter quality yarding on Thursday saw the cow average ease to 111.8 with a top of 144.2, and bulls slid five cents to 129.6 on average and reached 148 cents.
