RED Cross has done it tough this year and missed out on running its major fund-raiser March Red Cross Calling because of the Black Saturday fire appeal.
I wasn’t so happy about the decision to cancel the appeal because I believed Victorians would still have given and maybe should have been given the chance to show their generosity even more than they did. But things are as they are.
Maybe in turn for the massive effort by Red Cross over the summer it is time for us to help its hard-working members just a little more to balance the books and continue to provide care for people in crisis.
The Henry Dunant Region of Red Cross will hold a luncheon in the Tooradin Sports Club at noon on Tuesday 23 June.
Bookings can be made to Violet Mann 5996 3490 or Betty Keen 9774 0194.
