Aquatic progress

WORK has resumed on Pakenham’s much anticipated new aquatic centre after a break during ChristmasNew Year with the carpark now fully sealed.
The multimilliondollar project, recently named Cardinia LiFE, will feature an indoor aquatic centre and a host of recreational facilities.
Cardinia Shire Council received an update of major projects at its first meeting for 2006 on Monday night.
Councillors were told the building industry had been on three weeks leave and had returned to work on 16 January.
Works at the aquatic and recreation centre this month include the mechanical air conditioning system equipment installation, said to be nearing completion and the plaster sheeting, said to be approximately 50 per cent complete.
Councillors were told theinternal blockwork walls were complete, electrical and plumbing ‘roughin’ were continuing and the filtration system continued to be installed.
