Berwick poised to pounce

HE final round of pennant was completed at the weekend and promises an excellent round of finals matches for Berwick Bowling Club teams.
After the end of games played on Saturday, five of Berwick’s eight pennant sides will now be elevated to a higher section next season.
Two of these (sides three and four) went to a higher section from the previous year and both have finished on top of their section this season.
The numberthree side from Berwick which was on top of the ladder last week played Noble Park this week and needed a win to keep its position.
In a tough encounter Berwick achieved its goal and claimed top spot and a place in the finals.
Berwick now will have three sides competing in finals from next week.

The 18th and last round of the VLBA (ladies section) pennant draw for 2006/7 season was played on Tuesday, 27 February.
The first team finished the season top of the ladder and played Mulgrave at Mitcham Bowling Club last Tuesday (6 March), in the ladies pennant post sectional play.
