Cobra bowlers scatter bats

MERINDA Park’s Agrade bowlers backed up their batsmen’s efforts from the previous week of 340 by bundling out Pakenham UpperToomuc for 218 on Saturday.
It was a great win for the Cobras with the bowling honours shared around.
Shannon Mathers continued his good form, taking 3/59 from 14 overs, with Rick Dennerley picking up 2/25 from 6.4 overs and Jess Mathers with 2/74 from 19 overs.
Adrian Slater, Craig Boswell and Grant Mills all picket up a wicket each.

The Cobras had a great win over Pakenham UpperToomuc, even playing one bowler short in the lineup.
Under17 bowler James LaughlinGlen’s hattrick was the highlight of the day. He went on to take 4/44 from 10 overs.
Tony Clarke was the best of the bowlers with 4/27 with Darren Smith taking 1/8.
The Cobras bowled out Pakenham Upper for 118.
In the second innings the Cobras were 6/86 by stumps with Nick Reed making 38, Jarrod Armitage 18 and Matt Grayson 14.

The Cobras held on for a 53run win against Pakenham UpperToomuc with junior Nathan Beaver picking up wickets at vital times to finish with 4/41 from 11.2 overs.
Captain John Proctor picked up 2/32 from nine overs and Grant Pearson with 2/43 from 14 overs.
The visitors were bowled out for 269 in the final overs of the day.

In the only senior loss of the round, the Cobras were a chance of winning their match against Pakenham UpperToomuc after some good bowling by Jace Field to pick up 4/35 from 18 overs.
Jace has made a great start to the season and looks like pushing for a Dgrade spot.
Robert Strang also continued his good form with 3/27 from 21 overs with David Slater picking up 2/19 from 13 overs and Matt Pongracic with 1/6 from two overs.
It wasn’t enough though and the Cobras lost by 12 runs. Pakenham Upper was all out for 114 in 66 overs.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:F GRADE

The Cobras had a comfortable win over a depleted Cranbourne Meadows that was bowled out for 25.
Robert Clarke picked up 2/5 from four overs, Stan Pongracic 2/4 from four overs, Andy Hathaway with 2/12 from four overs with David Field and Jeff Gillespie picking up a wicket each.
Batting, the Cobras made the massive total of 6/280 with under13, Dylan Cuthbertson retiring on 53, his first senior match.
Another junior, David Spencer also made 51 retired and Stan Pongracic with 50 retired. Dave Field with 30 and Gerard Healy with 24 were the other notable scores.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 17

Another hattrick was taken earlier in the day with Marcus Beaver doing it for a second time at Merinda Park.
He took 4/9 in three overs as Nyora was bowled out for 69.
Captain Michael Theodoridis also bowled well with 3/5 from three overs.
Made to follow on, Nyora was 4/92 at stumps.
James LaughlinGlen took 3/8 from four overs to go with his hattrick in the afternoon.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 15 RED

The Cobras lost their match against Devon Meadows by the closest of margins, one run.
Making 5/177 with Stuart Martin (32 not out), Daniel McCalman (32 retired), Tim Shepherdson (31 retired) and Anthony Burr (28 retired).
Devon Meadows made 7/178 with Daniel McCalman taking 3/19 from six overs and a wicket each to John Lalor, Anthony Burr, Tim Shepherdson and James Gardiner.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 15 WHITE

Chasing 155, the Cobras did not quite make it after being bowled out for 109.
Matthew Pongracic got 34 not out, Simon Spencer 17 and Michael Blackburn 15.

The Cobras had a win over Pakenham Gold by 120 runs on first innings after bowling the visitors out for 62.
Sanan Wimalagunaratna was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/2 from three overs, Dylan Cuthbertson with 2/3 from three overs and Sakila Tennakoon 2/9 from three overs.
Batting a second time, the Cobras were 3/50 with Jason Pongracic making 25 retired and Sanan Wimalagunaratna 16 not out.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:UNDER 11

The Cobras fought out a close one with Devon Meadows White scoring 89 and the Cobras 79.
James Jordan played some good shots including one four with Kyle Salter doing the same including two fours.
Bowling, Ashleigh Little started well taking two wickets with his first two balls with Ramith Satharasinghe taking a wicket, Dinelka Balasuriya picking up two wickets and Shehan Jayaratne picking up a wicket as well.
