MERINDA Park Bgrade bowler James LaughlinGlen provided the roundfive highlight with a memorable hattrick, helping the Cobras to a convincing 94run win over Pakenham UpperToomuc on Saturday.
LaughlinGlen finished with the figures of 4/44 from ten overs, while his experienced teammate Tony Clarke snared 4/27 from eight overs.
Justin Harris top scored for the Yabbies with 29 when the visiting team totalled 118.
Nyora resumed day two well placed on 0/38 and careered away to a comfortable 68run firstinnings victory after scoring 8/194 against Beaconsfield.
Brendon Hackett top scored with 59 and Nick Fairbank scored 43 in the Saints’ winning score.
Cranbourne Meadows never threatened the massive total of 4/365 amassed by KilcundaBass and was bundled out for the disappointing total of 154.
Imram Tabbusum, who scored 52, was the only Rebel to show spirited resistance, while the Sharks’ Paul Cornelius (4/31 from 12 overs) was the visitor’s leading bowler.
Emerald bombed out to Nar Nar GoonMaryknoll by 104 runs after being dismissed for 144.
Don Alenson, who top scored with 46 not out, was one of the few Bombers who was not blitzed by the Goons’ frontline bowlers and it was Adam Cooper (5/27) who steamrolled the dominant Goons to an impressive victory.
Upper Beaconsfield easily dispatched Tooradin by 79 runs after the Seagulls only scored 153. Tom Sannen top scored for the vanquished team with 33, while wickets were shared evenly among the Maroons’ bowlers.
Cardinia easily crushed Pakenham by 174 runs after the Lions surrendered for only 50 runs in their first innings.
Andy Parker top scored with 20 for the host team that had no answers to the Bulls’ main herd of bowlers that was led capably by Brad Goodman (3/9 from six overs.
Pakenham performed better in its second dig when it reached 3/68 at stumps, but all honours of the game were with Cardinia.

An excellent innings of 179 from C. Husselberger, along with fine respective scores of 71 and 54 from A. Myers and Paul Grey, enabled the Lyndhurst Vikings to demolish Devon Meadows by 100 runs after the Vikings plundered 6/377 from the Panther attack.
Three sixes and 13 fours were included in Dave Lennon’s swashbuckling innings of 98 when Beaconsfield accounted for Clyde by 64 runs.
Cougar bowler Troy TharleAdams took the bowling honours with his 4/35 from 14 overs.
Pakenham suffered defeat against Nar Nar GoonMaryknoll by 94 runs after it was dismissed for 173.
Chris Chilcott scored 41 for the Lions, while consistent allrounder Scott Musgrove collected 4/55 from 15 overs for the Goon.
Lang Lang defeated Kooweerup by two wickets and seven runs after scoring 8/224 at the Demons’ ground.
Swamp Tiger youngster Kurt Nestor reached an unconquered halfcentury, while Kooweerup’s John Bright collected the noteworthy figures of 3/56 from 22 overs.
Officer enjoyed a firstinnings win by four wickets over Upper Beaconsfield, with significant scores being registered by Rod Zlonzak (87), Simon Armstrong (53), Wayne Danks (47 not out) and Tony Smith (37).

A penetrative spell of bowling from Cardinia’s Matt Argoon failed to prevent Pakenham gaining victory by 73 runs.
Argoon returned the excellent figures of 5/28 off 18 overs, but T. Holt’s fine innings of 78 allowed the Lions to have the winning roar.
A fine 50 from Rory Gilliate and a steady innings of 47 from Brian Knight, enabled Nyora to easily account for Tooradin by 103 runs.
Seagull bowler Gareth Andrews captured 4/48 from 16 overs, while Matt Walker scored an undefeated 64 when Tooradin reached 2/138 in its second innings.
Nar Nar GoonMaryknoll defeated Emerald by 55 runs and KilcundaBass demolished Cranbourne Meadows by 205 runs.
Sharks’ allrounder Sean Richards produced a fine double, scoring 83 not out and later collecting 5/62 from 13 overs.
Beaconsfield entertained hopes of an outright win after it wiped Clyde out for 76 in its first innings, but the smarting Cougars fared much better in their second dig, reaching 6/141 by stumps.
Beaconsfield’s J. Scales returned match figures of 5/42 from 14 overs, while Steve Houlihan (62 not out) and B. Lackman (41) led Clyde’s secondinnings batting revival.

Devon Meadows won a highscoring encounter against the Lyndhurst Vikings by 59 runs after declaring its innings closed on 9/295. Ian Hopper top scored with 76, while Jim Logan reached 37.
Pakenham UpperToomuc (PUT) sneaked home by 12 runs in a closely fought tussle against Merinda Park. D. Clarke top scored with 29, while the Cobras’ Jace Field (4/35 from 18 overs) and Robert Strang (3/27 off 21 overs) were Merinda Park’s leading bowlers.
Kooweerup prevailed by 22 runs over Lang Lang after scoring 144. Brian Wilby top scored for the Demons with 35, while Craig Dowson (3/25 off 14 overs) was the best bowler for Lang Lang.
Tooradin won a highscoring encounter against Beaconsfield by 176 runs. Bob Simpson (66), Adam Richmond (60) and Michael Ralph (41) all scored matchwinning runs for the Seagulls.
M. Ryan top scored with 70 when Cardinia defeated Gembrook by 30 runs, despite fine bowling from the Brookers’ M. Costa, who captured 4/35 from 12 overs.
Emerald easily accounted for Officer by 96 runs after the Bullants only scored 170. Jim Bourke led the Bombers’ squadron of bowlers capturing 5/28 from 12 overs.

There were two eyecatching allround performances in Saturday’s play.
Catani’s Bill Purvis captured 3/22 from 3.1 overs and later top scored with an undefeated 51, while Officer’s Jason Nicholson retired after scoring 51 and later collected 3/18 from six overs.
Other players who reached the retirement score of 50 were B. Hale (Officer), R. Suttie (Beaconsfield), M. Livermore (Emerald), D. Cuthbertson, D. Spencer and S. Pongracic (Merinda Park) and Duane Derozario (Clyde).
Bowling honours at his grade level went to Upper Beaconsfield’s Richard Edwards, who took 3/10 from six overs.

The highlight of the round in the under17 competition was the magnificent century scored by Kooweerup’s R. Bright, who plundered 125 not out against Cardinia.
Other high scorers in Saturday’s sweltering conditions were Emerald’s Ali Semaiha (68) and Cameron Davidson from KilcundaBass who scored 59 not out.
Merinda Park achieved both an individual (Marcus Beaver) and a team hattrick against Nyora.
A towering six that landed in the Emerald super market carpark highlighted the innings of 31 from Pakenham under15 player Raff Visser.
Other players in this level who scored 30 or better were M. Pongracic (Merinda Park White), Luke Howard (Devon Meadows), Luke Failla, Ben Ahern, Russell Lehman and Liam and Tom Keily (Catani), James Parnall, Jackson Fromhold and Daniel Jeavons (PUT Yabbies), B. Spicer (PUT Golds), B. Venn (Cardinia) and T. Bullman (Nar Nar GoonMaryknoll).
The leading under15 bowlers were Clyde’s D. Hadfield and Emerald Red’s Paul White who both captured 3/5 from six overs.
Several under13 batsmen scored in excess of 20 runs on Saturday.
These included Jason Pongracic (Merinda Park) Jarvis Mateariki and Brad Taylor (Pakenham Upper Golds), Luke Duffy, Jake Cameron and Jayden Joyce (Upper Beaconsfield Reds), Jordan Payroli (Nar Nar GoonMaryknoll Whites), C. Mackie, N. Worsteling and C. Beneder (Devon Meadows) and D. Allen and C. Allday (Pakenham Blues).
The leading under13 allrounder was Beaconsfield’s D. Johnston who captured 3/5 from four overs and later scored 13 not out.
