KOOWEERUP Secondary College is on a dux hunt.
The college is trying to track down the names of the school’s dux recipients to fill in the gaps on its honour roll.
The dux is awarded to the student with the highest academic achievement in year 12.
College principal Geoff Pledge said names are needed for the dux in the years 1985, 1986, 1987, 1990, 1993 and 1972 to complete the new honour board.
Mr Pledge said that in some of those years the Victorian Certificate of Education results were announced in January, by which time the students had left the school.
Past students have provided information to assist with filling the gaps to this point but the college is keen to hear from anyone who has further information
There is also interest in finding the names of the dux back to the school’s foundation in 1958.
Mr Pledge said school records prior to 1972 were lost in a fire.
The board has been erected in the refurbished reception and administration building.
The new board is part of an effort to celebrate the academic achievement of students from the college both past and present.
Displays of past students work is also in the foyer near the honour boards.
The college is beginning to prepare for a Back to Kooweerup Reunion in July, marking the school’s 50th anniversary.
