Council’s position undecided

CARDINIA Shire Council still has to decide its stand in relation to the application before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal to establish a motorcycle park at 945 Kooweerup Road, Pakenham.
The proponent, Wayne Maslen, has asked VCAT to issue a permit for the park on the basis that the Shire of Cardinia failed to decide on his application.
However, the council said it could not decide because Mr Maslen had not provided all relevant details requested.
Nevertheless the council on Monday 1 August agreed to the case before VCAT being adjourned to allow Mr Maslen to provide more information.
The council then decided that it would oppose the application if the matter was not adjourned.
VCAT did adjourn the hearing until 12 October when it is expected to set a date for the hearing.
Cardinia mayor Garry Runge said the 1 August motion had now lapsed and the council would decide its position after the VCAT hearing date was fixed.
