Curtis survives heat to take home medal

ROB Curtis defied the heat on Saturday to win the Pakenham Golf Club’s March monthly medal with an excellent nett 62.
The Agrade winner was Brett Mottrom and Cgrade went to Peter Korteman.
The scratch event was won by Brett Mottrom and the CCR was 70.
The club welcomed new sponsor, Janette McQualter from Jaymac Interior Designs who sponsored the medal.
Downtheline balls were awarded to Rodney Whitehead 65, Ken McIntyre 65, Michael Davey 66, Dan Cameron 67, Bob Yates 67, Rob Sandiford 67, Neil De Silva 68, D Ottaway (Sandhurst) 69, Russell Hladky 69, Dale Wynne 69, Dean Jones 69, Graeme Mack 70, Noel Boyd 70, Ray Hewitt 70, Mark Bell 70, Rob Young 71, Rod Cameron 71, Jeff Paterson 71, Barry Williams 71, Ross MacLean 71, and Justin Pearson 71.
Nearest the pin on the golf shop second hole went to Ken McIntyre and the Pakenham Subway fifth hole was won by Peter Zoldak.
Chris Michie took out the Dante’s Woodfired Pizza eighth hole and Robert Bigg the Hungry Jack’s 14th.
Paul Hobson was the winner of the Pakenham Pizza 16th hole.
The second shot on the B.M.R. Autos sixth hole was won by Ross Stewart and David Horne was the winner of the second shot on the CTM Bricklaying 17th.
Jason McQualter was the winner of the B.M.R. Autos longest drive and the McIntyre Painting Cgrade longest drive went to Robert Bigg.

This week is Stableford and the following week is Hartball.
Hartball requires teams of four and the entries need to be in as soon as possible.

Alan Borch repeated his Saturday win by coming in with 42 Stableford points to win the competition from Ron Miller, John Roberts and Marcus Daniel on 41 points.
Alex Green 40, Brian Doherty 39, David McArthur 39, David Hoare 38, Peter Skinner 38 and Rob Morley 38 were the downtheline winners.
Nearest the pins went to Denby Coggan on the second hole, Stan Gilbert on the eighth and Douglas Booth on the 14th.

Peter Thompson was the winner of the Stableford competition with 42 points from Walter Cooke 41 points.
Seventynine players competed and the CCR was 69.
Downtheline winners were Ben Wouters 40, Angie Peluso 39, Noel Bonne 39, Stan Gilbert 39, Ray Wilson 39, Ian Shennan 39, Ben Milnes 39, George Coffey 39, Peter Egbers 39, Ramon Cridland 38, Denby Coggan 38, Brian Doherty 38, Leo Cester 38, Anthony Wynen 38, Vilie Koroknai 38, Max Cole 38 and Malcolm McKenna 38.
Nearest the pins were won by Malcolm Clay on the second hole, Noel Bonne on the eighth and Peter Marotta (Lang Lang) on the 14th.

It was a pleasant evening for nine holes more than 100 teed off.
The Social winner was L. Megyeri with 16 points and the raffle winner was Keith Barrot.

The winner was Tony Sheehan who came in with 22 Stableford points to win on a countback from Dean Jones.
Down the lines went to Andrew Villinger 21, David Jack 21, Brian Bateup 21, Joseph Kozina 20, James Grant 20, Marjorie Dean 20, Peter Korteman 19 and T. Parson 19.
Nearest the pin on the second hole went to Brian Bateup and Steve Barrett won the second shot on the seventh.
Back nine
Walter Cooke was the winner with 22 points on a countback from Peter Egbers.
Down the lines went to Ben Wouters 21, Angie Peluso 21, Ian Shennan 21, Ben Milnes 20, Ken Marker 19, Rex Jobling 19 and Karen Clarke 19.
Harri Capobus won the nearest the pin on the 16th.

This was won by Richard Walker with 45 Stableford points from David Manning with 40.

On Thursday, 1 March, 41 ladies played Stableford to begin the 18hole competitions for the year.
The winner was Marg Jackson with 40 points with the divisiontwo went to Lee Andrews with 38 points and Joan Rawson was the divisionthree winner.
Nearest the pin on the second hole went to Ann Bell, Joan Rawson won the eighth hole and the 14th went to Ann Bell.
Downtheline ball winners were Loretta Stewart 38, Kay Jones 37, Lyn Murray 37, Judith McDonald 37, Marjorie Dean 36, Jan Creagh 36 and Helen Aurish 36.
Charity Day will be held on Friday, 16 March. Windemere is the charity for 2007. Saleable items will be welcomed for the stall.

The winner was Marjorie Dean with 70 nett off a handicap of 27.
Downtheline winners were June McCardel 75 and Elly Briggs 78.
The putting was won by Bianca Walker and nearest the pin second shot on the 16th went to Karen Clarke.
