Embankment smash

A PASSENGER in a truck was airlifted to hospital last Thursday after the vehicle he was travelling in slammed into an embankment in Pakenham Upper.
The 37yearold man from Malvern East suffered moderate injuries, including a broken collarbone and neck injuries, when the Isuzu traytruck he was in crashed on Pakenham Road about 7.15am.
The injured man was cut free from the wreckage after being trapped for nearly an hour and transported by the ambulance airwing to The Alfred hospital.
The 41yearold driver, from Altona Meadows, was treated for minor injuries.
Pakenham Upper CFA attended the scene and was assisted by units from the Nar Nar Goon and Pakenham SES. Two towtrucks were also called to clear the crash site.
Pakenham Traffic Management Unit Sergeant Peter Garton said police are continuing their investigations.
