THE Casey Partners MakeaWish golf day held on Thursday 2 June raised $31,500 for the Cardinia Casey branch of the MakeaWish Foundation (MAW).
MakeAWish grants children with life threatening illness their cherished wish.
Fundraising coordinator Carol Porter said the Cardinia Casey branch had been the third highest fundraiser for MAW in Australia.
Mrs Porter said that for the past 11 years CardiniaCasey Branch had enjoyed the success and profits of the Casey Partners BerwickPakenham corporate fund raising golf days.
“These most successful golf days have raised more than $205,000.
“This money helps to bring the joy of a wish to many of our beautiful children and CardiniaCasey Branch volunteers thank Casey Partners for their continued wonderful support.
The branch recently made a special presentation to Casey Partners representatives Peter Cousins and Brian Paynter in appreciation of their support.
Mrs Porter said the MakeAWish Foundation of Australia was celebrating its 20th anniversary year this year.
“In 1990 Bev Mentiplay called a meeting and with some interested volunteers formed the Pakenham Branch, now the Cardinia — Casey Branch of MakeAWish.”
She said many different wishes were granted
These included trips to Queensland to visit the theme parks, swim with the dolphins, trips to Disneyland, meeting celebrities, shopping sprees, lap top computers, cubby houses, spas and pet puppies.
