Good week for Garfield

IT was a good week for Garfield Bowling Club with good wins in both divisions two and six in RVBA pennant.
The divisiontwo team had a close win against Traralgon RSL on Saturday by five shots and gained 15 valuable points for the day.
Garfield won two rinks, tied one and lost one.
Scores were; Stephen Whyte, Reg Mattingley, Stu Robertson and Tom Cleary tied with L McKenzie.
Gary Payne, Peter Gallasch, Shane Oliver and Bob Lamport defeated G. Lahore 29 to 20. Les Pumphrey, Colin Carmichael, Hank Wouters, Frank Prins lost to D Morley 21 to 26.
Colin Mills, Jim Oliver, Russell Bruce and Don Knight defeated W Symons 24 to 23.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:DIVISION SIX

Garfield 62 had a clean sweep against Trafalgar Park claiming the maximum points of 10 in a close match that saw Garfield win by four shots.
Scores were; Bob Hope, Laurence Wright, Wayne Gunton and Bill Doherty defeated D. Swingler 28 to 26.
Alex Mentiplay, Bill Charles, Barrie Smith and Matthew Smith defeated A. Smith 22 to 20.
Garfield 63 lost to Yarragon 62 by 10 shots.
Scores were Gordon Beer, Keith Sainsbery, Ray Biffin and Adrian Helmuth defeated E. Jephson 25 to 15.
Geoff Gaskell, John Rose, Wes Goodman and Bill Pearson lost to S. King 35 to 16.

Tuesday pennant saw a good win for the Garfield divisionthree team over Longwarry by 10 shots.
Scores were: Rose Shaw, Joan Garvey, Joan Donovan and Margaret Charles defeated J. Eastwell 26 to 19.
Eleanor Lee, Judy Prentice, Pat Marriott and Bill Charles defeated J. White 26 to 19.
Lyn Oliver, Bev Sainsbery, Gordon Beer and Maureen Lamport lost to M. Ratcliffe 22 to 27.
Saturday ladies pennant was not a happy day for Garfield, going down to Mirboo North by nine shots. The game was played at Warragul.
Scores were; Eleanor Lee, Judy Prentice and Maureen Lamport lost 21 to 23.
Bev Sainsbery, Joan Garvey and Fay Carmichael lost 17 to 24.
