Goon sweeps the grades

NAR Nar Goon travelled to Catani and all teams showed their strength, coming away with great wins in all grades.

A GRADE

A fabulous team effort resulted in a solid win for the Goon. Goaling by Meg Evans, Sam Cox and Erin Murphy was accurate and consistent. Passing was strong and the systems worked well throughout the game.
Scores: Nar Nar Goon 78 d Catani 15.
Awards: Best Sam Cox.

B GRADE

Nar Nar Goon had a good win after a slow start in blustery conditions. There were some great passages of pay and all players caused a turnover during the game. Jessica Fry played a fine game on the wing and Mel Van Diemen was brilliant in goals.
Scores: Nar Nar Goon 48 d Catani 29.
Awards: Best Mel Van Diemen.

C GRADE

The Goon had a well deserved win with many wonderful passages of play. It was great to see hard work finally pay off. The positive encouragement throughout the game was great to hear. Cassa Fry goaled extremely well under harsh conditions and Tracey O’Neill led by example in defence in a great team effort.

17 AND UNDER

The Nar Nar Goon team had to adjust its game in windy conditions and kept putting pressure on Catani the whole game, slowly but surely increasing the lead at every change. Prue Evans showed her style in goals adapting her style to the windy conditions. Chantelle Joosten and Mirae Payroli defended well the whole game, Payroli being best for her many intercepts and rebounds.

Awards: E and C Joinery Mirae Payroli.

15 AND UNDER

Nar Nar Goon struggled to find the same form that saw them claim top spot on ladder last week, but the team worked hard in the windy conditions and managed to increase their lead throughout the game. Hannah Sweeney was a standout for the game with her strong leads and positioning around the ring.

Awards: Gloria Jean’s Coffee Hannah Sweeney.

13 AND UNDER

In a close encounter with Catani the Goon played a tough match and determination paid off at the start of a tough campaign to the finals.

Awards: Best Ruby Riley, Most determined Bridget Scott.
