AN excellent 67 nett gave junior Jack Henning the March monthly medal and Bgrade win at Drouin Golf Club on Saturday.
He won the double from John Fusinato on a countback, also with a 67 nett.
The medal was sponsored by Dynamic Window Systems and 113 players teed off.
Paul Lunt was next in Bgrade with 70.
Agrade winner was Darryle Bryce (handicap 11) with 69 on a countback from Paul Duivenvorden. Mark Wootton returned with 70.
Brian Curtis (handicap 25) won Cgrade with 70 from runnerup Alan Thorpe.
Clint Hickford and Brad Bennett tied for the best scratch score with 78.
Nearest the pins – second: Greg Hughes, fifth (propin): Frank Clebney, 14th: Geoff Thomas, 17th: Tom Flowers. The CCR was 71.

There were 104 players who teed off for the Par competition.
Dave Anderson (12) won Agrade with +4 after it was decided by a threeway countback.
Angus McArthur and Darryl Bryce both also finished +4 with Angus edging out Darryl for the runnersup prize.
Mick Hanley (18) won Bgrade, also with + 4 from runnerup Bob Ross +3 and Charlie Hardy +3.
Robert Palmer (23) collected all bets and hung around to collect after winning Cgrade with +4 on a countback from Eddie Stafford. The CCR was 72.

Doug Clark won the men’s section of the Senior nine hole competition with 20 Stableford points from Ken Laird 19, Barry Baskett 18, Peter Downward 18, Bill Pyle 18 and Gerrard Collins 18.

The club hosted a successful ‘Social Club Challenge – threeperson Ambrose Event’ that attracted 96 players (including a large contingent from the Melbourne Kiwi Golf Club).
The winning score came from the General Motors Dandenong Team nett 56 1/6.
This event is set to continue and grow as many of the players praised the course and the event.

The Baw Baw Classis will be held next week and Drouin will host its day next Wednesday, so the usual competition will not run.

Last Tuesday a good field welcomed the cool weather and contested a 4BBB Stableford event on the Michael Scott Course.
This was held in conjunction with the Peugeot Classic 3BBB qualifying round that was won on a threeway countback by Shirley Todd, Sylvia Martin and Ans De Wit with 85 points.
The winners of the day’s event were Kath Fusinato, Betsy White and Norma Scott with 88 points and the runnersup were Margaret Cole, Pam Pratt and Meg Blanchard with 87 points.
Nearest the pin on the 14th was a dead heat between Ann Roberts and Olive Reid and on the 19th was Kay Baskett.
Robyn O’Brien won the propin.
Down the line balls went to Shirley Todd, Sylvia Martin and Ans De Wit with 85 points, and Robyn Lacott, Judy Bibby and Wendy Hitchins, 85 points.
The winner of the running competition over the summer break was Irene Morgan with 42 points.
The Thursday ninehole seniors’ competition was won by joint winners Mildred Lyon and Fay Downward, 21 points.
Runnersup were Ann Roberts 19 points, Audrey Smethurst 18 points and Jill Brenchley and Wendy Hitchins both on 17.
This week is stroke, the monthly medal, first round silver spoon and first round Mona McLeod Brooches.
Next Tuesday is the Baw Baw Classic at Warragul and there will be no competition that day, however, members can play in the Classic at Drouin on the Wednesday.
