Kids’ centre open for inspection

FAMILIES interested in enrolling at the Lakeside Children’s Centre are invited to visit Cardinia Shire Council’s newest facility.
An informal walkthrough will be held tomorrow (Thursday, 7 December) between 10am and noon for an informal walk through.
“This is an opportunity for families with children enrolled in the kindergarten and others interested in enrolling, to look at the facilities for the very first time,” council’s children’s services coordinator Vicki Reid said.
“This is an exciting new facility that will provide a best practice model to residents and we are looking forward to it being operational in 2007,” she said
Building began on the centre in June and has gone according to plan with completion of the building in late October.
The centre is now finished both externally and internally with the final landscaping to be completed prior to the official opening and internal furnishing to be delivered during the Christmas period.
“The walk through will give people an idea of the great space and will no doubt elicit some ideas as to how best to furnish and use the space,” Ms Reid said.
Kinders Together Association Incorporated, a cluster of kindergartens including Bayles, Nar Nar Goon, Lang Lang and Longwarry will now also include Lakeside Children’s Centre, managed by one board of management.
