AFTER a threeyear absence from the local tennis scene, Nar Nar Goon Tennis Club is once again involved in the West Gippsland Tennis Association with two junior teams to compete this summer season.
The club’s first annual general meeting for three years was held with Carolyn Shores elected as president, Loretta Alexandrakis, secretary, Julie Tivendale, treasurer and Paul Osborne junior coordinator.
Club coaches Chris Millidonis and Paul Osborne have been running coaching lessons for junior and senior players of all standards throughout the year and are delighted to see 10 budding young tennis players starting junior competition this summer.
The NNG sectioneight team is Brad Grant, Dean Grant, Caitlin Benton, Matt Benton and Ben Distefano, that started the season well at Pakenham last week with a convincing win five sets to one.
The NNG sectionten team of Sarah Alexandrakis, Ryan Alexandrakis, Alice Timmins, Ashlee Bloxidge and Luke Tivendale had an excellent match against the Pakenham beginners, but lost by one game in a very competitive start to the season.
