Nominations for volunteer awards

NOMINATIONS for the 2007 Casey community volunteer awards close on Thursday 1 March.
Casey mayor Colin Butler said the awards were a significant way in which the City of Casey officially recognised contributions volunteers made to community organisations and to the municipality as a whole.
He said efforts by volunteers made Casey a terrific place to live.
“I encourage everyone to think of the volunteers who dedicate their time to help others, and surprise them with a nomination,” he said.
Community Volunteer Awards will be presented to the most outstanding volunteers in the categories of family and community support, sport and recreation, arts and cultural activities, environmentconservation, and young volunteer.
An award for innovation will also be presented to a community organisation, group or business that implements innovative projects, programs or partnerships that encourage volunteering and community participation.
