Officer salutes its bats

OFFICER’S Agrade batsmen started the WGCA season in great form with a firstinnings score of 308 against Pakenham on Saturday.
Coach Colin Tucker top scored with 44 not out and received support from virtually the whole team.
Rod Zlonzak did well at the top of the order with 39 and Shane White got off the mark with a six in his first innings back with the club and scored 30.
Others to score well were Ben Baxter (20), Daniel Savage (36), Shaun Marchetti (27), Brett Reid (28), Chris Savage (38) and Kable Dowsett 18 not out including a big six.
Officer is well placed to win first up.

Officer is also well placed in Cgrade with a wellcompiled 5/265 against Gembrook after being in trouble at 3/17 against a tight Gembrook attack.
Peter Quinn scored an excellent 114 including 13 fours and great running between wickets. He shared century partnerships for the fourth and fifth wickets with Brent Pullen who continued his good form from last season with 49 and Peter Tucker who scored 69 not out in better than even time with two big drives for six.
This was a good fightback for Officer that is looking forward to a good start to the season with the ball this week.

Officer started the season in good form, dismissing Pakenham UpperToomuc for 127 and be 2/51 at stumps.
Jason Nicholson got a wicket first ball of the game with a hit wicket and took 4/30 in a good start to his season.
R. Burns took 2/22 and Tom Bulenok 2/12. Richard Adams took 2/13 in just three overs with Officer dismissing Pakenham Upper in just 40 overs.
At stumps Steve Darlow was looking good on 22 not out with Jason Nicholson making 12 and Tom Bulenok nine.

Juniors start this week with the under11s playing on Sunday until daylight saving starts and under15s and under 17s playing Saturday morning.
