Pat runs hot at Drouin

PAT McDonald defied the hot conditions to shoot 42 Stableford points to win Agrade on a countback from Marty Dalziel on Saturday.
In the field of 97, Paul Hopkinson and Richie Christian were next in Agrade with 40 points each.
Iian Mitchell (handicap 18) won Bgrade with a handy 41 points. Gerrard Commoduer was runner up with 40 on a count back from Andrew Ellis.
Geoff Thomas (24) won Cgrade and lowered his handicap by a couple of shots with his 42 points.
Runner up was Jeff Monteath with 40 on a countback from Jack Henning and Errol Hopkinson.
Nearest the pins – second: Errol Hopkinson, 14th: Dean Robbins, 17th: Steve Keating.
Balls down the line went to 39 points and the CCR was 71.

Tony Elliott (handicap 12) won Agrade with +5.
Runner up was Angus McArthur with +2 on a countback from Mick Hamilton and Brent Eastwell.
Mike Waring (20) won Bgrade with the second highest score of the day +6.
Tom Flowers won a fiveway countback for the runnersup prize with +3, from Jeff Mirams, Bob Ramage, Danny Gorman and Andrew Ellis.
Peter Johnson (29) won Cgrade with the day’s best round of +7.
Another countback saw Merv Peel declared the runnerup with +4 from Max Johnson and Kevin Long.
Nearest the pins 19th: Ian Archer, 23rd (pro pin): Graham Austin.
Balls down the line went to +3 and the CCR was 70.
Arch Lugton won the Senior nine hole event last Thursday with 20 points from Joe Coggins 17.

On Sunday, 24 teams contested the annual Gerry Butler Memorial Plate in conditions that should have seen every player who finished rewarded with a medal.
Results: Winning plate team was Trafalgar (3) with a total of 119 (three best scores count). M. Ferguson, John Regnier, Neil Regnier and Matt Regnier.
Agrade winner: K. Macantyre (Pakenham) 42 points. Runnerup: J. Halkett (Moe) 41.
Bgrade winner: B. Langmaide (Yallourn) 39. Runnerup: J. Regnier (Trafalgar) 39.
Cgrade winner: M. Regnier (Trafalgar) 43. Runnerup: M. Ferguson (Trafalgar) 39.
Scratch winner: S. Milne (Pakenham) 74.

Members are reminded of the change to the program for this Saturday.
The Christmas mixed as advertised in the program has been altered to a Medley fourballbestball event and will also be a shotgun start at 10.30am. Entries must be made in the Pro Shop prior to the day.
The overflow Par players must now hit off before 8.30am or after 12.45pm.

Last Tuesday was the second round of the Downtowner Summer Cup and some good scores were recorded. The CCR was 40 points.
Friday, 1 December was the annual charity day and 94 players contested a fourballbestball open event.
An amount of $1800 was raised and a cheque will be presented to Jenny Ginnane from The Gippsland Cancer Care Centre, Latrobe Valley Hospital, Traralgon, at the Christmas breakup and presentation day this week.
Winners of Agrade were Carol Baker and Donna Utt (Traralgon) with 46 points on a countback to Von Kenny and Wendy Hitchins.
Winners of Bgrade and with the best score of the day were Mildred Lyon and Ans De Wit with 49 points.
Runnersup were Kay Grieve and Fay Downard with 48 points on a countback.
The best nine in were Karen Swingler and Leah Birch (Trafalgar) with 24 points on a countback.
The best nine out were Norma Scott and Betsy White with 26 points.
Nearest the pin on the fifth was Sharon Gumbledon and on the 14th was Norma McCausland (Beacon Hills).
Downtheline balls went to Norma Scott and Betsy White, 48 points, Dagma Forbes and Eve Coghill (Warragul) 46, M. Gambetta and Sharon Gumbledon 46, Di Sullivan and Jill Brenchley 46 and L. Stewart and L. Tait with 45 points on a countback.
There were three broken handicaps – Jill Brenchley to 14, Kay Grieve to 32 and Betsy White to 30.

The ninehole seniors’ competition was again well attended and the winner was Ans De Witt with 26 points.
Runnersup were Von Kenny 23 points and Audrey Smethurst 20 points.
