Pat takes Drouin double

IT was a double celebration for Drouin Golf Club’s Pat McDonald on Saturday – a monthly medal win and a handicap down to single figures.
There were 111 players who battled the windy conditions for the medal sponsored by Vin Bibby Electrics and there some very low scores recorded.
Pat McDonald (handicap 10) had a couple of reasons to celebrate after his excellent round of nett 65 the monthly medal on a countback from Noel Brereton and handicap down to nine.
Despite losing the medal on a countback Noel’s (22) equally great round did see him win the Cgrade division and lose a couple more shots off his handicap.
Runner up in Agrade was Fred Gadjobranski with 67, followed by Shane Dwyer and Rod Hammond both on 69.
Shane’s 74 gross was the best scratch score of the day.
Bill Pyle (19) won Bgrade with 69 on a countback from John Gwynn. Danny Burke and Russell Seadon both scored 71.

@BT Sub Sport Gaz:THURSDAY RESULTS

There were 44 players who contested the senior ninehole competition that also doubled as a ‘men versus ladies challenge match’.
With the ladies drawing up several rules and conditions, it was never going to be easy for the blokes to repeat last year’s victory, but that does not give them any excuse for the hiding the ladies dished up to them.
The aggregate scoring system resulted in a 213 to 155 win to the ladies.
Individual winners on the day were Keith Andrew 21 points (men) and Bev Pollard 23 points (ladies).
