FINALS fever has hit, but police have warned supporters not to get too carried away.
With big crowds expected for football and netball matches around the Casey and Cardinia area in the next few weeks, police said fans should think again if they intended to drink and drive.
Cardinia TMU Sergeant Peter Garton said police would be checking motorists leaving football grounds.
Patrols would also be made around finals venues, he said.
“We will be breathtesting drivers as they leave. Our message is for football patrons to enjoy the game but not go overboard and certainly not to drive if they have been drinking,” Sgt Garton said.
