TYNONG local Clive Weston was farewelled by friends, family and town folk in a touching ceremony on Monday.
About 300 mourners gathered at the Tynong Hall to celebrate the life and times of Mr Weston who died last week after a longrunning battle with illness.
Mr Weston owned and operated the Tynong General Store for 18 years and talked glowingly about the town he lived in during an interview with the Gazette two months ago.
Leslie Holt described the service for her partner of 32 years as a grand send off with the hall packed full of people paying their final respects to Mr Weston.
“The Bunyip Country Women’s Association choir sang three lovely songs and family and friends talked about Clive very fondly,” Ms Holt said.
