RSLpresident set for Lang Lang

AUSTRALIA Day celebrations in Lang Lang will feature Australia Day ambassador MajorGeneral David McLachlan, the Victorian president of the RSL.
MajorGeneral McLachlan was born in NSW in 1937, after joining the army in 1959 he spent his early years stationed in Malaysia and South Vietnam.
After a long and colourful career, in 1989 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia and became an Officer of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday honours list in 1993.
Since retiring from the regular army in 1994, he has been kept busy in roles as a corporate adviser to several companies.
He is chairman of a company called Isonet Ltd and a director of the Royal Humane Society.
He is also the honorary colonel of the 4th/19th Prince of Wales Light Horse Regiment.
The Australia Day celebrations begin at 7.45am with an Aussie breakfast followed by the Australia Day Ceremony at 8.30am with the morning concluding at 10am.
