Seniors kick up

THEY say you are only as old as you feel and the folk at the Autumn Over 55 Club show no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
That zest for life has never been more evident than at a special celebration for the club’s 41st birthday last Friday.
More than 60 members rolled up to the High Street venue, formerly known as the Berwick Senior Citizens Club, to partake in an entertaining day of song, dance and laughter with some good company to boot.
The Casey Entertainers, a sixmember group who have an array of talents, took to the stage and wowed the audience with their stage presence.
The funfilled day was organised by president Charles Richards and his hardworking committee who have rejuvenated the club with some exciting activities over the last few months.
It was all hands on deck during the day with the president donning many hats to make sure the event ran smoothly.
“Me and my wife do the ballroom dancing and I also become a waiter and serve the meals,” Mr Richards said.
Members were also treated to a threecourse meal provided by the club, which was marked as a winner among the group.
Mr Richards said he had to order extra meals to cater for the unprecedented interest in the event.
“The club is beginning to give us good vibes for the future.”
Club members meet at the club’s High Street building every Friday from 11am.
