Tania’s stylish ways are already paying off

PAKENHAM hairdresser Tania Davis has been recognised for her creative styling skills.
The 22yearold secondyear apprentice has been selected among the top 20 apprentices in Victoria and Tasmania to compete in a prestigious national Style and Shoot talent competition.
Tania was chosen from a field of 626 apprentices from across Australia each vying for a place in the finals of the 2007 L’Oreal Professionnel tecni.art Style and Shoot competition.
Tania, who is from Chumba Concept Salon at Warragul, joins three other Chumba apprentices chosen in the state’s top 20.
They are Nicola Bentzen, Rhiannon Plew, and Melysa Relf.
Director of Chumba Concept Salon Belinda WattsKeeley said this was a great outcome for Chumba and a significant achievement for the apprentices.
“To have four apprentices selected from the one salon is a real coup and shows the calibre of young hairstylists being produced in regional Victoria,” she said.
It will be Tania’s first taste of competing in a national title.
Tania has already received recognition early in her career winning two awards at the recent GippsTAFE Hairdressing annual apprentice competition in Gippsland.”
Mrs WattsKeeley said the L’Oreal Style and Shoot competition aimed to launch the careers of young stylists giving them an opportunity to showcase their talent, innovation and creativity.
Tania and the other finalists will now compete in Melbourne on Wednesday, 18 April where they will recreate their design and present it on stage before an audience and panel of judges.
The winner will have the opportunity to work in a professional studio with model and fashion photographer and have work published in national magazines.
