Teen pool party attracts 200

TEENAGERS partied in the pool in Kooweerup recently.
More than 200 young people swam and partied at the Kooweerup Pool Party FreeZA event on Friday 9 February.
Cardinia shire youth services officer Jade Stubbs said the event had a cool, chilled atmosphere as people splashed around and listened to the music.
Four bands, Legally Blind, Upstream, Black Belt and White Summer performed poolside.
“They swam, then many sat in front of the stage to watch White Summer play,” she said.
Ms Stubbs said the event was staffed with lifeguards, security and first aid officers as well as council staff.
“There were no problems, everyone was chilled and looked like they were having a good time,” she said.
Ms Stubbs said it was hoped more pool parties would be held in the future at pools around the shire, including next summer at the refurbished Pakenham Outdoor Pool.
“We are also looking for passionate young people to join Electric Productions, our event committee to help out with planning events,” Ms Stubbs said.
Planning is now under way for National Youth Week with the main event to be held at the Pakenham Skate Park for Saturday 21 April.
