Tigers battle Bomber bowlers

BEACONSFIELD’S Bgrade batsmen fought hard for a competitive 176 against Emerald at home in round eight on Saturday.
Due to rain at the Emerald ground, A Grade will play a oneday game this week.
Best with the bat was Peter Sofra with 50. Travis Turnbull contributed 28 and Troy McDermott 27, while Geoff Bliss remains on 22 notout.

Playing at home, The Tigers batted first against Catani and reached 268 from 56 overs.
Mick McMahon top scored with 64, while Ross Mitchell (37), Jamie Ingham (40) and Brendan Ewert (39) were all valuable contributors.
Matt O’Connor also chipped in with 19 to round out a good batting performance.

Also batting first, Beaconsfield made the very solid total of 236 against Cranbourne Meadows.
Paul Dorbolo (22) and Tom Carlyle (30) made a good opening stand.
Alex Benbow added 18, Rob Young 29 and John Scales 39 not out. Top score for the day went to Tristan Kerr with 57 notout.

Playing Devon Meadows away, Beaconsfield batted first.
Wayne Holden with 79 and Greg Tomamichel with 102 opened the batting and combined for an opening stand of 124.

With a total of 245 to defend, Beaconsfield will look to secure its first Egrade win for the season this week.
