Tooradin strikes at Cardinia for win

TOORADIN’S under 17 team defeated an undermanned Cardinia by 95 runs on the first innings.
Cardinia was dismissed for 47, with eight bowlers used. James Howard (2/4) and Corey Leslie (2/8) were the multiple wicket takers.
In reply Tooradin reached 2/142 with Sean Wilson 28, Shane Somers 26 and Sean Baker 26 all retiring.
James Thompson kept wickets very well and scored 15, while James Howard scored an aggressive 19 not out at the end of the innings.

UNDER 15

Tooradin had an easy win against Merinda Park Red thanks to a sound batting performance.
Newly promoted opener Josh Morcom set the trend, retiring for 16 from only eight balls in the third over and then came back to finish on 27, including an allrun six.
Jaedyn Thomson made 20 not out, Jack Barker 15 not out, Jay Wilson 15 and the captain Matt Thompson a very steady 14 to leave the Gulls with 168.
All of the Tooradin team bowled with Jack McKay having the best figures of 2/14. Ryan Eaton took 1/15 and Josh Morcom completed a good day taking 1/4, restricting the Cobras to 6/97.

UNDER 13

Tooradin played Pakenham Blue in a oneday game and was defeated by the narrowest of margins.
Chasing Pakenham’s 3/73, Tooradin ended at 3/72 to be one run short of victory.
Most of the team had a hit with Ryan Eaton (16 retired) getting the team off to a good start.
Nick Simpson showed improvement with the bat to make 14 retired as did Khyle Thomson.
