REPRESENTATIVES from community groups that will distribute more than 400 toys told of smiles of joy they have seen on the faces of children because of toys that come from the Berwick and District Woodworkers Club.
Club members toil all year in their toy factory at the Old Cheese Factory, Berwick, to make the colourful array of toys.
Cardinia Combined Churches representative Jeni Mathieson said she was unable to describe what the toys could do and the delight they created for children.
Berwick Benevolent Society spokesperson Barbara Hunter said this year there was a little extra because the quilters had made little quilts for the cradles and toy beds.
“We sometimes have the pleasure of watching children play with the toys and we thank the Woodworkers Club.”
Kristy Sellers from the Cranbourne Salvation Army said toys they received would be given to children during a toy day at The Shed on Wednesday, 13 December.
She said the Salvation Army really appreciated the work put into the toys for needy children.
