THE beleaguered Enterprise Avenue sector slowly became part of the chamber during the 1990s.
While the chamber was fighting so hard to get a university it wasn’t realised that this would land lock the precinct.
The plan was was to develop a light industrial sector extending from Enterprise Avenue.
But because of a traffic risk to students it was thought inadvisable to allow access through the campus leaving the only access at the Clyde Road Enterprise Avenue intersection. The ensuing traffic gridlock became intolerable and traffic lights will be installed.
