PEARCEDALE saw first hand on Saturday the level it had to achieve to be a player in this year’s finals after top team Langwarrin toyed with the Panthers to win by 145 points.
Ricky Ramsdale booted seven goals for Langwarrin, while Steve Raspin finished with five majors for the Panthers.
Red Hill had its first win of the year with a 48point result over Tyabb with Scott Clark and Peter Dal Lago booting five goals each.
Frankston did what it had to in defeating Sorrento by 49 points, while other results went the way of Somerville over Crib point by 22 points and Rye with consummate ease over Rosebud by 77 points.
EdithvaleAspendale’s 58point win over fourth placed Frankston YCW was the turnup of the weekend’s Peninsula League round.
The Stonecats were behind all day and never in the hunt.
Pines took its match right up to Mt Eliza before the Redlegs broke free to score a 41point win, while Seaford had no trouble with Martin Pike’s Hastings, winning by 98 points in a onesided game with Oliver Trand booting nine majors.
In other round11 results Karingal fell to Chelsea by 37 points and Mornington eked out a 23point win over lowly Bonbeach.
