Ray’s points at Pakenham

RAY Hewitt, with 44 points took out the Stableford event at Pakenham Golf Club on Saturday.
The field was very large (162 players) especially for a long weekend when quite a few of the regular players were away. The C.C.R. was 69.
Tym Davey won Agrade with 40 points and David Wylie Cgrade with 43 points.
Nearest the Pins went to Tasi Taito (Golf Shop 2nd hole), Dean Jones (Pakenham Subway 5th hole), Al Campbell (Dante’s Woodfired Pizza 8th hole), John Hutcheon (Hungry Jack’s 14th hole) and Basil Bate (Pakenham Pizza 16th hole).
Glen Savkov took out the B.M.R. Autos 2nd shot on the 6th hole.

There were three eagles on Saturday with Andrew Villinger taking out two of them on the seventh and the 18th and Scott Milnes had one on the 18th.
Scott also received a ball for having a birdie on the 5th hole.
The B.M.R. Autos longest drive in Agrade went to Clint Walker and the Bgrade to Rodney Whitehead. David Shannon was the winner of the McIntyre Painting C Grade Longest Drive.

VALE JACK RAMAGE

It is with great sorry that the club reports the passing of Jack Ramage, one of its regular golfers both on Monday and Wednesday, who played up to a couple of months ago.
The president, committee and members of the club have passed on their sincere condolences to his family.
He will be sadly missed around the club.

Hartball is being played next week (teams of four), please contact Jason or Shannon in the Golf Shop as soon as possible. Saturday 24th is Par and the 31st see a Stableford event.

PROAM

Rawdon Hill 2007 Pakenham Proam – Friday, 30 March.
Friday, March 30th is the club’s big day of the year hosting the 7th proam.

MONDAY RESULTS

Trevor Smith was the winner coming in with +6 from Soma Siavalia with +5.
Down the lines were won by Cliff Pain +4, Vilie Koroknai +3, Alex Green, Ray Milnes Bob Morrison and Brian Bateup all came in with +2 followed by James Logan and Fred Uini with +1.
Eric Butcher was nearest the pin on the 8th hole and Ray Milnes took out the 14th hole.

WEDNESDAY RESULTS

The Stableford competition attracted 81 players and one of the regulars Joseph Brennan was the winner with 41 points from Ben Wouters also with 41 points.
Nik Hock, Bob Sandiford, Bob Kennedy and Max Cole all came in with 40 points to win a shirt each.
Down the lines went to Scott Milnes, Steve Chapman and George Coffey with 39 followed by Angie Peluso 38, Ray Wilson 38, Brian Doherty 37, Peter Eaton 37, Rod Cameron 37, Peter Diss 37 and Vilie Koroknai 37.
Keith Norman was the winner of the nearest the pin on the second hole and Eric Butcher took out the 8th hole. The 14th went to Brian Doherty.

TWILIGHT COMPETITION

One hundred took part on Wednesday with the social winner being J. Evans and the raffle winner the Mortimer family.
Front nine
Bob Kennedy was the winner with 24 points from Jack Jackson with 20 on a countback.
Down the Line winners were Angie Peluso 20, Ron Seamer 20, Nik Hock 19, Cliff Pain 19, Peter Eaton 19, Jack Munro 19 and Bob Dowse 19. Keith Norman was the winner of the nearest the pin on the second hole and Mark Bell was the winner on the eighth hole.
Back nine
Another countback was the order of the day with James Grant coming in the winner from Brian Webster, both coming in with 23 points.
Michael Popov, Dan Cameron, Ray Barnes and Bill Gourley all came in with 20 points followed by Graeme Mack, Martin Spurway, Scott Phillips and Mick Boyd all with 19 points.
Nearest the pin second shot on the 11th went to Clint Walker and the 14th hole was won by Rod Wedlock.

SUNDAY RESULTS

Twentythree members played and Paul Hobson was the winner with 44 points from Anthony Colvin 38, Mark Delaney 38, Glen Easto 38 and Rob Young 38.

LADIES

On Thursday, 8 March, 40 Pakenham ladies had a lovely cool day to play the first Monthly Medal of the year, as well as qualifying round for Captains Knockout.
The medal winner for March was Dawn Van Roy 71 nett on a countback. Marjorie Dean was the Division 1 winner and Division 2 went to Ann Bell 72 on a countback.
The longest drive division one went to Shirley Roberts, Division two was won by Julie Hughes and Ann Donovan was the winner of division three.
Nearest the pin on the second hole was won by Shirley Roberts, the eighth hole went to Helen Aurish and the 14th hole to Judy Horne.
Downtheline balls: Joyce Garton 71, Adele Mahony 71, Val Carroll 72, Marg Turner 72, Loretta Stewart 72, Jan Creagh 73, Sue King 73 and Shirley Roberts 74.

SATURDAY LADIES

Liz Garvey came in with a great score of 46 points to win the competition with Leanne Andrews and Elly Briggs having 35 points to take home the downtheline balls.
Nearest the pin second shot on the 16th went to Marjorie Dean.
