TOP quality traditional art has proved to be a winner for the City of Casey.
Art enthusiasts came from across Melbourne to the second annual Kevin Hill Top Ten Art Show, presented in the Casey Civic Centre over the weekend of 9 and 10 September.
Casey deputy mayor Rob Wilson officially opened the weekend last Friday and said it was great to have the show in the city of Casey. “This is a wow show presented by fantastic artists,” he said.
“Kevin Hill has been bringing Australia’s top artists to the public for many years, and we are pleased he returned to Casey after the inaugural show last year.
“The City of Casey supports the arts in several ways and this is part of that program.
“The Top Ten Art Show presents a collection of the most collectable and affordable art in Australia.”
Cr Wilson said awardwinning Casey artist Ern Trembath had been selected to hang his work at the exhibition. “Mr Trembath has won 30 major art awards,” he said.
Mr Hill said one of the important aspects of the show was that most of the artists attend the exhibitions.
“Their work is of suburb quality and they are here to discuss it with patrons,” he said.
Mr Hill said on Monday he would bring the exhibition to Casey again next year.
Artists on show were Kevin Best, John Vander, Max Mannix, John Dynon, Werner Filipich, Otto Kuster, Gary Myers, Ian Hansen, Paul Margocsy, Jim Hough, Ern Trembath, Bill Ambagtssheer, Pro Hart, and Jack Absalom.
