HILLCREST Christian College in Clyde North will receive $74,300 for construction and landscaping of outdoor areas, including a shaded area, eating places and play equipment.
La Trobe MP Jason Wood announced the grant last week and congratulated school principals and school councils for their dedication to the learning environment.
He said considerable commitment and dedication was needed for schools to go through the funding application process and they should be proud of their achievements.
“It is important to provide the best possible learning environment for children and the Australian Government is committed to doing this through the Investing in Our Schools Program,” he said.
Mr Wood said the program would up until 2008 provide an additional $300 million in capital funding to Catholic and Independent schools, as promised during the 2004 election campaign.
