ONLINE love logged on at Pakenham when two chatroom lovers tied the knot.
Kym Greenfield and his wife Deborah first crossed paths in cyberspace four years ago and their love was confirmed in a ceremony at the Berwick Assembly of God a fortnight ago.
The internet connection didn’t stop with the married couple though and extended into the wedding party as well as several other arrangements on the day.
The Pakenham residents met their bridesmaid, Lorraine Jones, for the first time only days before the big event, but all three had been chatting online for nearly five years.
Lorraine flew in from Canberra to attend the special day and gave the wedding celebrations a true online feel.
And Deborah walked down the aisle in a white wedding dress bought from online market place eBay.
“I think the decorations were also bought over the internet,” Kym said.
It was love at first keyboard stroke for Kym who said their feelings had blossomed over several online chat sessions and progressed to phone calls and then meetings.
“I use to fly over from South Australia every 10 weeks to see her,” he said.
Kym, 48 and Deborah, 43 moved on to the scenic Heritage Springs estate after the official formalities of the wedding were over to treasure the moment with some professional photos.
Deborah’s 11yearold son, Eric, walked her down the aisle and longtime friend Michael Potter was Kym’s best man.
The couple celebrated their first few days of married life together by heading to an island off the coast of Queensland for their honeymoon.
