NYORA’S Dgrade team is only 50 runs behind Cranbourne Meadows after bowling it out for 143 on Saturday.
Nyora lost the toss and was asked to bowl.
A marathon stint by Rory Gilliate saw him take 2/52 runs, William Hayes 2/35 and Ryan McIntosh 1/21. Peter Jensen and Andrew Cavigan also took a wicket each.
Some good fielding saw Nyora effect three runouts one each to Ryan McIntosh, Billy Hessels and Rory Gilliate.
Cranbourne Meadows was struggling at tea on 7/77 but a 56run partnership for the eighth wicket boosted the score.
Nyora batted and lost two quick wickets, but Jimmy Watts and Peter Jensen put in a strong performance to take Nyora to 2/93 at stumps.
UNDER 17
Cardinia won the toss against Nyora and decided to bat.
Jacob Bohmer took a wicket in his first over to have the score on 1/2 in the second over.
Cardinia then consolidated and didn’t loose another wicket until the 19th over when Luke Tagliaferro took two in three balls and Cardinia was 3/71.
The score was on 141 when Robert Provan also took two wickets off three balls and Cardinia finished the day 5/173.
