Pride of the young Lions awarded

PAKENHAM Lions Junior Football Club’s presentation day, held on Father’s Day, was described as a huge success.
Teams from all grades received tropies.
Popular club member Rosie Wake received the coveted clubperson of the year award from president Andrew Muley.
The day started with the undernine age groups with activities held on the ground for all the children.
The boxing and sumo ring was popular with the older age groups, while the younger ones enjoyed the jumping castle.
This year the club has introduced a player’s honour board to note those who have played all of their junior football with the Lion cubs before moving on to the seniors.
Three players, Michael Wake, Adam Marchant and Chris Johnson have played from undernine, starting in 1997 to under16s – a total of about 394 games between them.
The club wished all three well as they move on to the seniors.
Also acknowledged was the effort of Under 10 player Jessie Dinnie in winning the league best and fairest.
