ROC starts with fine results

ROC had fine start to the season, all players showing great determination and spirit and winning five of six games.

A GRADE

In a great first game for the season all players worked with great persistence. Sheree Smith and Brianna Rolteveel had excellent first games in A grade. Laura Quinn and Mel Whursthorn were unstoppable in defence and the centre court was strong, feeding the ball to Andrea Boon, who shot beautifully.

B GRADE

Tooradin showed excellent encouragement and teamwork by all players. Davina Milnes jumped into the game with great strength and with Davia O’Hehir posted an impressive score. Lisa Stephens defended beautifully all game, while the centre court played powerfully.

C GRADE

In a brilliant start by all players, Helen Conjar, Leia Van Deelen and Jess Allchin worked well together in goals. The defence played with outstanding perseverance, lots of turnovers ending in goals, while the midcourt put up a fine effort.

UNDER 17

After a shaky start, through determination, the ROC players were able to get to the top. The midcourt worked hard, displaying excellent teamwork, and there was fine play from defence and great accuracy from the goalers.

UNDER 15

In a good first game everyone put in a great effort. The defence played tightly while the goalers shot well and with growing confidence. In the final quarter there was a fightback due to the combined efforts of centre players Lauren Mynott and Jessica Hamilton.

UNDER 13

Oakleigh Mullan fed the ball swiftly to the ROC goalers and the defence made it difficult for Devon Meadows’ attack, Emily Armstrong keeping things tight throughout. In the final half ROC moved forward with the assistance of Emily Marks in her first game.
