A TEEN cyclist and a motorcyclist were injured in a collision at Pakenham’s busiest intersection on Saturday. The collision at the intersection of The Avenue and the Princes Highway happened about 4.15 pm.
Police said neither the 15yearold cyclist nor the 31yearold Pakenham man was seriously hurt.
It was the second incident involving cyclists in the past week. On Tuesday last week, a 14yearold boy and a car collided in the Pakenham Place shopping centre carpark.
Cardinia TMU Sergeant Peter Garton said the incident highlighted the need for motorists to be extra vigilant on local roads during the school holidays.
“Kids are out on their bikes more,” he said.
“The onus is certainly on cyclists to do the right thing, but motorists also need to take special care.”
