ELUSIVE forward Luke McConnell celebrated his 100th senior game with a 10goal haul in a bestonground performance for Beaconsfield seniors against a determined, but undermanned, Dingley at Perc Allison Oval last Saturday.
Due to injuries, the Eagles took the field with 14 of its 21 players under 21.
Kicking to the clubhouse end in the first quarter the Eagles took time to settle, finishing the quarter with six goals to nil.
First gamers Sam Benbow and Jesse Linkins looked at home in senior company, playing composed, confident football.
The Dingoes started to find their feet in the second quarter, testing the Eagle backline and scoring two majors for the quarter.
By halftime Beaconsfield had put together a 61point lead.
The third term saw the Eagles really soar, dominating on every line, with McConnell unstoppable and Kris Fletcher amassing many kicks.
To its credit, Dingley took the hard option by not flooding their backline, further allowing the Eagles flowon game to prosper.
This determination paid dividends in the final term when Beaconsfield took the foot of the pedal. Dingley took full advantage and kicked four majors for the term.

The return several players from injury bolstered Beaconsfield.
The mood in the rooms before the game was buoyant and this carried over onto the ground for the first quarter as the Eagles scored nine goals to two points.
Evans and Hogan dominated the second quarter.
The second half followed the same trend with Dale Ruse lively up forward and Ryan Price cleaning up across halfback.
A highlight of the last quarter was Brendan Jarman’s six marks from eight kickins after behinds were scored.
The Eagles were far too strong winning by almost 30 goals.

Beaconsfield had a bye and remains undefeated at the top of the ladder.

After a couple of disappointing weeks the Eagle Colts were keen to get back on the winners’ list.
This seemed unlikely early as the EdithvaleAspendale made the early running. By early in the second quarter they had scored six straight goals while the Eagles could only manage two.
Beaconsfield settled and started to play better football but, as in previous weeks, they were plagued by inaccuracy in front of goal, scoring only one major from eight shots in the second term. Refocusing after the long break Beaconsfield hit the lead in the third term with some attacking play and solid defence.
Both sides tired in the last quarter and although EdithvaleAspendale had its chances, the young Eagles prevailed by 10 points.

Next Saturday tough onballer Tim Musgrove plays his 100th senior game for the club against Doveton.
On Saturday, 22 July, the Beaconsfield Football Club past players and officials will hold their annual luncheon with guest speaker, recently retired club legend Troy Cashman. As part of this year’s activities the club will recognise its 1996 reserves and under15 premiership members and helpers on the 10th anniversary of their achievements.
A look back at the team photos of those years under coaches Peter Smith and Peter Goodes shows the calibre and legendary status of some of those players and officials.
The club hopes to have many on hand to relive the past glories and in some cases, watch their kids try to emulate them.
