Ron Mantel Boardwalk set to open next month

THE new Ron Mantel Boardwalk at Tooradin will be officially opened at noon on Saturday, 4 November.
Casey mayor Kevin Bradford said residents were invited to attend the opening.
He said the State Government contributed $450,000 to the cost of the $1 million boardwalk.
Cr Bradford said the late Mr Mantel was a tireless community volunteer for the area, contributing his knowledge, time and skills to numerous community groups and organisations.
“He was also Casey mayor in 200001,” he said.
“In acknowledgment of Ron’s outstanding contribution to the community and in recognition of his passion for Tooradin and the water, it is fitting that the new Tooradin boardwalk be named in his honour.
“The boardwalk will become a landmark for Ron’s hometown of Tooradin, highlighting his passion and his achievements for the community he served, for generations to come,” the mayor said.
